Every Day a Story
Today is an invitation to wonder and adventure.
When my eyes open, the darkness surrounds me in its stillness, and the desire to close my eyes and sink back into sleep pulls at me. But downstairs coffee waits beside my laptop, both waiting for me to meet them there, to show up and uncover the story this day will tell.
What story will I tell with my life today?
As I sit here at my keyboard, the day stretches out before me. Opportunity and possibility and wonder and joy hidden along the path for me to discover if I am tuned in and present and seeking it. Too often, we move through our days with rote actions, like sleepwalking. Too often we miss the wonder and delight that invites us to step inside our lives. We live too often on the periphery of our own lives, steeped in have-tos and need-tos and others’ expectations of and for us.
But what about our story?
For me, that includes showing up in the wee hours of this morning to put words on the page and to fulfill my calling. A calling I’ve treated too lightly too often to this point in my life.
